Horse blankets are pretty handy to have around a stable, but not essential for every horse owner. A standard horse blanket is used to keep a horse warm and or protected from wind and other elements.

Everyone remembers the “Simpsons” episode in which beleaguered Homer – not yet the walking punchline he was to become in later seasons – works himself nearly to death, taking second shifts at the Kwik-E-Mart with Apu, in order to afford a pony for young Lisa.

I live in Florida. Here the cold weather isn’t to cold but we get alot of cold fronts. I want to get a horse blanket for my tb that isn’t heavy, keeps a horse warm but doesn’t make a horse get hot when the coldness isn’t so cold but keeps them warm when it is cold.

I’m looking for a good quality blanket for my 14.2 quarter horse that will withstand bites from other horses and won’t rub his shoulders. If you can give a specific model and online store that would be very helpful. Thanks!

How cold can it be outside and still keep my horse warm?
