my clydes loved to be out in cold weather as long as they had their winter coats all”hair’d up”.clydes as you can imagine are big so they put out a lot of heat as long as they have a fat layer on them.i always fed mine grain in the winter with their hay, this kept their fat content up.but as the others have said unless they are sick, clipped or old you shouldnt need a blanket for your clyde.
not unless he is clipped or in poor health. Also, he will need a place to get out of the elements such as a lean to shelter or something along those lines.
It doesn’t matter what breed the horses it matters if the horse is clipped or not and if the horse grew a winter coat.
If the horse is clipped or has not grown a winter coat than it should be blanketed.
If the horse hasn’t been clipped or has a winter coat than no it doesn’t need a blanket
Not unless the horse was
clipped
in poor health
geriatric
Yes but only if he is clipped or in bad health. Otherwise you don’t need to.
Depending on if the hosre was in the past blanketed or if he is ina shletered enviornment or not. I always think if it’s under 20-blanket.
if it is clipped, yes.
if it is old, yes.
if it is in poor health, yes.
otherwise no. unless it was just like a thin sheet then i dont see why not, they want to be warm too!
personaly i don’t think horses need blankets. What would they do it the wild?
You know what i mean..
the ONLY reasson i would put a blanket on a horse is if he/she was old.
