You Don’t Need To Worry About Things like That.

If you horse is at a stable with a bunch of other horses, having at least 6 horses in a barn can raise the temp. up 20 degreeses at least so that blanket should do just fine. And if you have her body clipped, its also nice to have a neck rug sometimes at night, when it gets extra cold. But if shes not just a blanket will do. Hope this helps. :]

Depending on if shes clipped…. then i would say it is hardly enough. My hunters who are completly clipped out have 2 360gram rugs. When it is extra cold i even put another rug on them. My other horse which just has a blanket clip has a 360 gram rug on and seems fine in that. The breed also makes a difference as a TB will feel the cold more than a cob. If your horse is clipped then a 220 may be enough.

its probably a medium weight, so assuming that your horse has a normal amount of coat, isn’t very old or very young and is a normal weight, I would assume she would probably be ok down to 25 degrees F. or so – but every horse is different. I have a Thoroughbred who puts on a heavyweight blanket at 35 degrees, while the Thoroughbred next to him puts on his mid weight blanket at 20 degrees – he’ll sweat if I put it on when its warmer than that.

Mine are both wearing poly-fill Rambo’s…370 weight…it’s been in the minuses here..they’ve both done well. The next step up in heaviness is the Rambo 440 which is the Artic version of a turnout.
